Bullet points on mouse click - powerpoint 2003

I have made it work on most of my slides using the following which I
got from a google search (thank you to all the gurus)

When you right-clicked and selected "Custom Animation" you see a
TaskPane to the right. You click the "Add effect" dropdown and set
the type
of animation you want. Once set, it appears in the area below (list
of all
animated objects in order). Click on it and you will see a dropdown
arrow.
Click the arrow and select "Effect options". You will see a "Text
Animation" TAB that you can change the "Group text by..." option the
way you
want it.

However I have one slide, which has bullet points and subpoints, in
which I follow this method but when I choose the effect options there
is no text animation tab, just effect & timing tabs.
Does anyone have an idea why this would be happening.
Thanks,
Barbara

No the animation effect is the same, I looked at several of the other
slides and they seemed the same. However after a couple of hours I
went back to the presentation and the problem slide seemed to be OK.
I would still be interested if anyone has an idea what could have
happened, incase it reoccurs, as have other slides to add to this.

Oh, now that's bizarre.

I wonder what you had selected when you tried to get to the text animation tab. Maybe if it happens again, try to notice if you've selected anything differently or have a different thing highlighted on the custom animation task pane or something like that.

And of course, feel free to post back with that info. :)

Right now, though, I couldn't tell you what would be causing this, sorry.
