Text animation tab not visible

Animating text to introduce 1st level, 2nd level etc. One inherited
PowerPoint slde has the Text animation tab available in the Effect Options
dialog box but when I create a new presentation, have bulleted text, apply an
animation (fly in), the Text animation tab doesn't appear in the Effect
Options db. Any ideas please?

I think it's the difference between animating a text box versus individually
animating the separate lines/bullet points within a text box. Animatiing the
complete text box will present the text animation tab. Animating individual
lines within a text will not present the text animation tab.

Quite right! Selecting the whole text even isn't enough. The placeholder has
to be selected to see the Text animation tab. Thanks
