eliminating double animation

Folks, I've been using PPT for many years and have seen this before but can't
solve it in PPT 2k7. Pages are showing animation of the text (1st level
paragraphs at a time, with fade), but on the Animations ribbon toolbar, it
shows "no animation" and "custom animation" is unselected. I've even clicked
"apply to all" (with those settings) thinking that it would reset them all
(even though I do want it on some pages), but it does not reset those that
have it where I don't want it.

And worse, if I DO setup custom animation, such as to fade in every bullet
rather than just first level paragraphs, that will do double animation,
showing the first levels first, and then repeating all the bullets with the
custom animation. Again, I used to see that even in PPT 2k3, but only if I
had set page-level animation and then added custom animation. In this case,
as above, the page says it has no animation.

Anyone tripped over, and resolved, this?

Carehart,
Don't know if i understood your question correctly but could it be that you
applied animation to the placeholder in the master. If you remove it there,
the double animations will disappear.

Well, almost. I had in fact found that just after sending the note, and did
remove such animation in the master. (I don't recall putting it there, so
wonder how it got there.)

But even on doing so, I found I still had a related problem. Not so much
double animation, but the page content appears (without animation) and then
appears again with the animation. (Again, I'm just talking about simply
per-paragraph fade in. Nothing else.)

It doesn't appear we can attach files here, so instead I have posted a copy
of a single page demo preso at http://carehart.org/bad_animate.pptx, if
anyone might have thoughts. Thanks,

Carehart,
In the sample you posted, and after removing the animation in the master,
the slide animates normally here.

Thanks, but no, i confirmed that shadows are not enabled (edited the sample
page, and selected the text. That shadow icon is not selected. Tried
enabling/disabling, butno affect on this issue.)

Haven't looked at the file, but I'm almost certain that part is a shadow.

Yep, Luc, thanks. Curious about that. I had removed it last night, as I
mentioned about seeing it last night. And indeed it showed all level 0's (in
the custom animation panel) when I selected text in the master's body. Oh
well. Lesson learned, and perhaps for future readers as well. Cheers.
