BIG MISTAKE!

I went to Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs>Add or Remove Windows
Components, meaning to delete the Windows Digital Media Enhancements. Due to
a lack of instructions, I accidentally deleted EVERYTHING in that wizard. I
managed to reinstall some but not these: "Sonic DVD and CD Burning",
"Internet Information Services", "Management and Monitoring Tools", "Message
Queing", "MSN Explorer", and "Other Network File and Print Services." Now I
have no CD driver (or it is corrupted) and I get a C++ error when I start my
computer. My CD drive is a HP DVD Writer 640b.
Do I have to reinstall Windows? The people at Best Buy installed Windows
for me and I don't have a copy! Please help me.

I would try going into the Device Manager, uninstalling the drivers for your
drive and rebooting.

Windows will recognize your drive and install the proper drivers for it.

You may need to reinstall any burning software too, because it will probably
remove the additional drivers that these programs install.

I would be suprised if using System Restore (Start > Accessories > System
Tools) can't help you recover your software assuming you have a restore
point to go back to.
