Backup on any type of media

Unable to backup on any type of media. I have tried to back up on a Zip
drive and a CD drive and get the same message. The message is:

Backup Status
Operation: Backup
Active backup destination: File
Media name: "Backup.bkf created 4/24/2005 at 11:17 AM"

Error returned while creating the volume shadow copy:80042301
Aborting Backup.

----------------------

The operation did not successfully complete.

How do I get around this? I have printed a copy of "Windows XP Backup Made
Easy" and it does not address this error message.

Thanks in advance

I'm no sure about zip drives, but ntbackup cannot backup to a CD drive
unless there is third party CD burning software installed, and even then
it will only backup to a single CD - it cannot span CDs. You are much
better off using a drive imaging program such as Symantec's Ghost,
BootitNG, or Acronis True Image, or a traditional backup program such as
StompSoft's Backup MyPC.

Hi Peter
I have the same problem "shadow copy 80042301". But, I did once succeed in
backing up my files ( the first time I tried it). So there must be another
solution than Rock's.
