B&W display

I just upgraded from 98SE and when it first boots up
things are in color, but by the time all the desktop
icons are there...everything is gray.

Any ideas?

Try downloading updated video drivers. If you go to Windows Update, there
may be an updated driver for you in the Driver section. If not, visit your
video card's manufacturer and obtain an updated driver from them.
