Autosearch not working

Jim

Recently the autosearch feature on the address bar stopped working. I have
run antivirus, Ad-aware, etc, etc. to no avail. I have researched this and
other newsgroups, web sites and made the suggested registry changes. Still
no change. When I type a word to search on I get "web page not found and
http:///? followed by whatever word I searched for on the address bar.
My only success came when I created a new user account and signed on. IE6
then seems to work fine. When I switch back to my original account IE6
reverts back to the problem. Obviously the registry entries for the 2 user
accounts are different. Maybe there is a way I can compare them. Any
ideas?

Thanks

Jim

First eliminate any scumware.
See
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
