Audio Driver problem

As soon as I downloaded Direct X 9 to my computer, my audio device stopped working. (Yes I tried uninstalling, as well as a systems restore, without a fix ) I have all devices say they are working just fine, but nothing is being recognized as being there for use. I know that everything physically is hooked up fine and in excellent working condition. How many audio drives do I need? I think I saw about 6 different ones listed in my drives, and all working without problem, and none working... so someone... please help this newer computer user... What do I do ??? No place I have gone in Microsoft has been able to help me locate the answer. And their help technical page does not fit my screen (btw the only site I have ever svisited that does that :p) Please Help!!

Try going to the audio makers website, and see if you can get an updated
driver for your audio card.
