My system was working fine yesterday. Since last night, when I start my PC
and then the DVD player everything works fine. If I exit the Cyberlink DVD
Power DVD or connect to the internet I lose sound (except system sounds). I
check the Sound and Audio Devices section in Control Panel and the tabs tells
me I have no Audio Device (my Realtek97 drivers are all gone). If I then
restart the PC and go straight into playing a DVD, without connecting to the
internet or starting any other program, all my Audio Devices are once again
listed and I receive sound as usual. Once I exit the DVD player or game
however, the same issue of no Audio Device appears once again requiring a
restart once more. I cannot connect to the internet without losing all
program sounds (for example connecting a multi-play game for my son). The
game connects, but there is no sound.
I have not installed anything new, harware or software...this has just
occurred with no explanation. Checking the presence of the audio drivers
tells me they are there and working perfectly. It looks like a conflict, but
where or how this is the case is a complete mystery. Can anyone help?????
