Never heard of Defender Pro but Panda's OK and Norton SUCKS.

None of them.

Kaspersky and NOD32 in that order.

Especially a 2 year old product! Norton has just released version 2006.
However, I never seen it yet!

I am working on using AVG 7 Free.

Never seen Defender, removed Panda from every computer we've come across
due to it being a complete resource hog and slowing down everything.
Used NAV 2004 on many machines, never had a problem with it. YMMV.

I'm using Nod32 and I think it's great.
Previously I used Norton Antivirus 2004 but it's too heavy for the pc
and not that good at detecting all the viruses.

I would strongly recommend AVG Free
I use AVG plus Zone Alarm
with skybot and Adaware for anti spyware

I agree with Blair. all free, all good. Avg has never let me down,
nor has zonealarm.is funny how spybot and adaware take up each other's
slack. in a pinch I will "borrow" off the net, but is good to have
truely free and easily updatible software. bottom line, they work well

I like and use Computer Associates EZAntivirus.

I agree with Blair. all free, all good. Avg has never let me down,
nor has zonealarm.is funny how spybot and adaware take up each other's
slack. in a pinch I will "borrow" off the net, but is good to have
truely free and easily updatible software. bottom line, they work well

Nope, didn't miss it at all, most AV products have dictionary lists they
use to find viruses, some also have other means to detect them. I've
always considered AV products to be mostly "reactionary", but, some of
the better ones provide a means to sense virus activity based on past
methods without a definition.
