AMD 64 3500 Vs Amd 4000 which is best ?


I know the 4000 comes with 1 meg of cache. But does that make it any
faster. If your overclock the 3500 to 4000 speed. Is the 4000 any
faster ?

Right now the best price point is the 3800+, Newegg have a retail version
for $429 + $4 for shipping. Go with that. 2.4Ghz...you should be able to
overclock at at least 2.5Ghz.

We'll, if you're really serious about Overclocking, get the 90nm 3200. I'll
never spend more than about $230, at the absolute most, on a processor,
especially when the $150 - 190 models can be overclocked to the stock speeds
of the $700+ chips. You have to know what you are doing, though, and be the
kind of person who enjoys tinkering with settings for days. Get the 90nm
3500 and OC it PAST the speed of the 4000, if you insist on spending nearly
$300.

The 4000+ is still overpriced, so unless you're willing to wait, you'll
be overpaying unnecessarily. I've currently got it (3500+ 90nm)
overclocked from 2.2GHz (default) to 2.5GHz -- and it's running at 35c.
(using Arctic Silver's ceramic thermal compound) As Stillwater said, I
could potentially overclock this to reach the 4000's frequency, but
it's unnecessary. (at least at this point

Correction: it's already past the default 4000+ setting (which is
listed as 2.4GHz)
