I am about to install sp2.
I hope i can get on the net ever again. Goodbye too all.
If this screws up, I am done with computers all together.
Sick of it!

Paulina,

The smartest way to apply SP2 IMHO:
1) Disable all startup applications, using MSConfig.
2) Reboot.
3) Apply SP2.
4) After SP2 reboots again, start a few applications at a time, and test again.
5) Re enable startup applications, and reboot.

Waste of time? Maybe. Effective? Yes.

Cheers,
Chuck

It would be a good idea to check Windows Updates or the vendor web site
to check for most recent updates for video and network adapters. Check
the vendor web site for any information on "things to do before loading
SP2". Microsoft also has a list of applications that don't work
correctly in SP2. See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=884130
See also http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?&pr=windowsxpsp2 for
additional information on installing and using SP2.

Most of the problems users are having installing SP2 has to do with
processor BIOS (rare), video and network adapters.
