a:floppy diskette drive

I have just updated from windows 98 to XP. I went to save
a back-up file on the a:diskette drive and it is not
recognized.

How do I make this drive operable so I can back-up files??

First try to update the driver via the device manager (you can get to
the device manager by right-clicking on the desktop My Computer icon
and selecting "manage" and then selecting the device manager). Then
Try removing the device via the device manager and rebooting and
letting XP find it again. Does My Computer display an icon for the
floppy drive?

Erm, floppy drives don't have drivers....

Is this a 5 and 1/4 drive? if so, XP probably won't
recognize it. 98 did, XP (at least all of mine) won't.
