Hello,
I hope something or someone out there can help me. I used the file and
transfer wizard on my windows XP Pro. I backed up 95gb of stuff. When using
the transfer wizard on my new installation it said there was no files there.
I went to the D: drive where I saved them and I can see 95gb of data however
it cannot recognize the format. It was saved in a .DATA img. I have fully
updated my new installation to SP3. Nothing seems to change. Anyone have a
suggestion???PLEASE??

The F.A.S.T file corruption has been previously posted, in this
newsgroup. It was stated that the SP3 version is complete
incompatible with the older versions.

I had updated my system to SP3 prior to saving my files so the operating
system is the same . Any help?
Sincerely, Sean

Sorry to say I don't know of any way to recover the data, but the FSTW is
not reliable enough to use for backup purposes, as it frequently goes wrong.

I suppose Microsoft would argue that it wasn't designed as a backup app,
only for situations where the transfer can be re-tried if it fails... but
then, as I recall nowhere does it actually say this.
