Windows Size and Position Settings

I would like to get Windows XP to remeber the position
and size of the Window that opens when I click on a
shortcut for the a:Floppy Drive. If I have a shortcut
for a folder and size and position it Windows
automatically rembers the last size and position. When I
do the same for the a:Floppy the Window opens every time
in different places on the screen. Is there a place to
set this preference and have it remembered by Windows?

To test you can put a shortcut on the desktop from
Windows Explorer for the a:Floppy and oepn and close the
Window for the a:Floppy several times and see that the
Window not only does not remember any changes you make to
the size or position of the Window but it also moves the
Window to different positions on the screen each time you
reopn the Window from the shortcut.

Seconded opened windows inherit the size of the last window opened, usually
from pop-ups. I have not taken you up on testing, but see if this works:
Resize the window using the double arrows, then use File/Close or Exit.
This also applies to desktop shortcuts, which play in.

The Windows behave themselves for everything but the
a:Floppy. They continue to open thier own size and
position no matter how I close the Window. With each
opening they take a new position and the size is about
the same as it wants, not what I have set. This was not
so in Windows 2000 and Windows 98 so I am looking for
some registry setting or .ini file where this is set
right now.

Thanks
