Setting exact window size, postion for opening app

Is there a way to set the exact window size & position an application window
assumes when it opens? Perhaps setting them in the shortcut? XP home SP2.

Hi Sheila...
If what I guess is what you're looking for - try this...

Open an application, word doc, file etc, and make sure it's in the
'Restore down' position... That where you have the two little boxes in
the frame between the Red X close and Minimise boxes... Top right...
Then place your pointer at any edge of the opened application until it
becomes a double arrow...
Hold down the left mouse key and drag the frame to a size you wish it
to be... Placing the double arrow on a corner, will move lat and long
at the same time...
When you have the size you want, place the pointer in the blue bar at
the top of the application and holding down the left mouse key, move
the lot to where you want it to be...

With fingers crossed - the next time you open it, that just where it
will be... (Or at least it should be)...

Robbie-Thanks for the reply. I tried that, but it just keeps opening in the
same "default" size/location.
