16 bit Windows Subsystem (AUTOEXEC.NT)

Well, I have this recent problem where this pop-up message, err, pops-up and
says:

Title: 16 bit Windows Subsystem

Message: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable
for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to
terminate the application.

That's about it. It always happens when I try to install games, mostly
DOS-based or early Windows games. I use Windows XP professional, SP0. (SP0?)

How can I resolve this problem, as my computer was all fine before. I have
Norton's Antivirus and the such. This post somehow to one posted by The
Carver.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I suppose this is a connection to the problem stated above.. Could anyone
instruct me on how to "expand CD-ROM Drive Letter" in DOS? Or expand any
drive?
Better still i'd be overjoyed if anyone could link me to a page(if
microsoft.com has one), which teaches the basics on how to "play" around with
DOS?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
