16 bit Windows Subsystem

I am trying to load a program from a CD, that I really need. The program can
be loaded on two computers. I tried to load it on my laptop and it wouldnt
work. It says 16 bit Windows Subsystem: C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt. The
system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and microsoft windows
applications.
However, I later tried it on another computer and it loaded fine.
I still get the same message on this computer.
Does anyone have any idea what this means, or what I need to do?
Please help.

Replace the standard version of autoexec.nt/config.nt by copying a backup copy located in
%windir%\repair\ to %windir%\system32\
(NB: %windir% is typically C:\Windows)

Start>Run and type in this without the quotes:
"cmd /c copy /y %windir%\repair\autoexec.nt %windir%\system32"
