0x800040154 when Updating definitions

I just installed Windows Defenderin my computer. I'm running Windows 2000.
When checking for definitions/updates, I get a message that says:" Windows
Defender was unable to complete the update. 0x800040154. Class not
registered".
Any suggestions to correct this problem?

Thanks.

Can you go to Windows Update, do an express scan, and apply all offered
updates?

Thank you, Bill, for your suggestion. I didn't try it, but the problem seems
to be related with our company's Firewall system (this is my computer at
work). After I posted the message, I found out that the IT group already
noticed it and is trying to figure it out. The previous version of the
Microsoft Antispyware updated without any problems.
I'll post the solution if they find it. By the way, I've seen other threads
expressing similar problems when trying to update the definitions. They all
might be related.

Thanks again.

Your company needs to be running WSUS to distribute patches, rather than SUS
or a private solution. If they are running WSUS, take a look at posts in
the .networking group in the last three days or so--I re-posted some earlier
advice from a WSUS admin about the steps needed to make Windows Defender
definitions available via WSUS.

If you are able to reach Windows Update, definitions are also available via
that route. The two options are: Windows Update or AutoUpdate.
