You may have some that are hidden since you already opened them. To check
for this, click on the Outbox, then View, then Current View, then Show All
Messages.

The obvious question is, did you look in the Outbox folder to see if
there were indeed some unsent messages? Your problem description
is silent on this point. And if there were unsent messages, did you
attempt to delete them from the Outbox? What was the result?

Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a computer
that is running Windows Vista
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941090
It also works on other folders.

They may be hidden, but still there. Click on the Outbox, then View, then
Current View, then Show All Messages.

If this makes some messages appear, click on Tools, then Options, then Send.
If there is no check mark in the box before Send messages immediately, click
on this box, then Apply to make it try harder to send these messages. Click
on OK. Restart Windows Mail and see if the messages now go out. If not,
click on the Outbox, then move these messages to the Drafts Folder or
delete them. If any refuse to do either, download and install this hotfix,
with Windows Mail not running:

Steve,

I'm experiencing the same problem Lisa had and I tried the suggested
solution below to no avail. Any further thoughts on solving this problem?

Thanks very much!

They may be in the Outbox, but hidden. To check for this, click on the
Outbox,
then View, then Current View, then Show All Messages.

Also, if you want Windows Mail to send them sooner, click on Tools in the
main Windows Mail window, then Options, then Send. If there's no checkmark
in the box before Send messages immediately, click on this box, then Apply.
Click on OK, then send yourself a short message to test the result.

I'm having the same problem except I was on line and ttied to send a message
to customer service from the site I was on. Unknowenly my e-mail wasn't set
up right and I got an error message.
After getting my e-mail set up correctly I got the message of unsent mail
and error message again. I did to to my out box and deleated the messages
in it but still get the error and unsent message. Any ideas?

If you are sure your Outbox is empty, then that mail account may be corrupted.
Delete that account, restart Windows Mail, then recreate the account.

Click on your Outbox, then View, then Current View, then Show All
Messages, and see if there are any more messages there that are hidden
since you read them since they went to that folder.

If you still get an error message, right cleck on it and copy it to your
next message.
