unsent messages

Thanks Steve, you are brilliant!! After I created the new account and
deleted the old one, I was able to move the emails I still wanted to send to
my Inbox (just by dragging them there) and delete the ones I didn't care
about sending any more. Then I closed Mail and re-opened it and sent the
mails I had moved to my Inbox. It worked fine - hooray!!

Thanks again for your help.

Cheers!

I tried this utility, but it just threw an error. Luckily deleting my email
account and setting up a new one with the same credentials worked perfectly
well - see Steve's advice above.

Cheers!

Great. Glad to hear it. This had been posted before, but many couldn't
figure out how to do it.

Hi Steve,
I've had the same problem with messages not sending from the Outbox. I've
set up a new email account and the same problem persists. Any other solutions.

If you have a message stuck in the Outbox, do the following:
First, delete or move as many of those messages as you can.
There will be one undeletable message.
Download and run the WMUtil program:
http://www.oehelp.com/WMUtil
Be sure to read and follow the instructions on that download page.

WMUtil tool and that hasn't worked. Yesterday I turned on my laptop an it
sent messages today it is stuck again. I've run the WMUtil tool again and no

When you say Wmutil didn't work, what did happen when you
clicked clear outbox button?

Are you sure you stopped the Winmail process via Taskmgr?

Could you also clarify...
"Yesterday I turned on my laptop an it sent messages today it is stuck
again."
Do you mean the message is in the out box?

Any error message?
How do you know that nothing is stuck in the Outbox?
Which antivirus are you running?

I have done everything in these threads with no help. I downloaded the
WMUtil and when I run it I get an "Unable to access database" error message
(System DllNotFoundException:Unable to load DLL 'scxout.dll'The specified
module could not be found. I have also run the task manager and did the end
process. Am I forever to be in Unsent Message mode?

Not if you follow the instructions.

"Unable to load DLL 'scxout.dll" indicates that you are executing
Wmutil from a different location than where it's companion file
scxout.dll resides... in other words you have ignored the very
first instruction following "download here."

It says...
"Note: The zip file contains two files which must be saved
to the same directory (one can use the Desktop.)"

So... once again...

There are two files in the zip file.
You have to extract both of them to the same location.
(You didn't extract the dll, but just the exe file.)
Then run the program and see if it works.

..Thanks for the help Julian,

I did as you suggested and get the error message;
SystemBadImageFormatException - yada,yada,yada. I think I will just delete
Windows Mail and load Live Mail. Will this fix my problem?

I expect so, meanwhile I'll mark this for the attention of Steve Cochran,
since I've never seen your error before.

Are you using a 64 bit processor?

Yes, sorry I did not metion that. I suspect that may be part of the problem.
I have run into some other "issues" with the 64 bit Vista upgrade I did (my
Epson 2450 scanner does not work because no 64 bit driver is out there yet,
my Adobe Flashplayer is not 64 bit, things like that). I am sure once
everyone has upgraded to 64 bit systems then there will be no issues.
