I can.

"I've been in the process of redesigning the site and fixing all the
errors, inconsistancies and filling in all the missing information. So
when I upload the redesign, it'll even be better than before. :)"

Now perhaps it just hit me wrong when I read it, but it *seemed* like a
tame yet real backhand at the prior person who ran it. Again, just my
reading.

As for anything else, I'm backing away slowly.

Yes, tame perhaps, but *intentionally* hurtful none the less. That set
the tone for me.

R

R. L.

Why do you easily dismiss someone's wishes to no longer be
affiliated with a certain website?
It's such an easy thing to fix you would think it could
have been done by now.

No, I don't dismiss that, but I just think your post could be
a bit nicer.

You know we are all busy and I think if I were the person who
were maintaining the website, if I were anyway doing some
redesigning, I might as well just try to put up the new one
without your name on it as soon as possible. But of course,
this would just be me. I am guessing that Garrett just haven't
gotten to it, yet.

Of course, I understand your concern, but perhaps you might
also consider that if you were Garrett, would YOU put piroity
on this particular request given that you have been sort of
attacking him? Say, a person who ask you nicely to do
something vs scolding and nagging you to do something, whom
would you think you'd respect more and do the request
quicker?? Don't forget, we are all human being.

I am guessing that if you have sent him the request nicely or
even personally, express your time conern, the result *could*
be different. I personally don't mind go out of way to do
something for someone if he\she ask me nicely and I could do
it no big deal.

Imagine someone send you a request on Pricelessware CD but
keep scolding you, attacking you and nagging you on it, I bet
you would be nice enough to send it to him anyway; yet, it may
also be if you have something else that was more important to
do, you would likely to delay the sending if that person was
very mean to you, even though you'd eventually do it. Does
this make a bit sense?

Yes, Garrett, I did do that. It wasn't difficult to find, although
it's odd that you seem to be the only person on the planet who has
the name Hylltun. After your recent comments, which I see Susan
posted, and looking at Freewarehome I wondered if your site is going
to become a commercially supported site. I understand that you may
not wish to answer that question at this time.

You're clueless! I no longer hold my 1/3rd ownership of
freewarehome.com and kidsfreeware.com! I gave up my part of the
ownership years ago so the other two owners could survive. LOL! It
wasn't even my design, nor was the advertising any of my doing.

Now, if you've done your homework, you've seen the other sites that
I've designed, or maintain, right? No, I guess you haven't, or
wouldn't be jumping all over me.
I don't know what all this "hind end" and "sunshine" stuff is about,
unless you mean my multiple requests and demands to remove my name
from your site.
If you would have removed my name from the website like I asked you, I
wouldn't have given much more thought to what you do with your site.

My, it's ok for you to get snotty with me, but man the battle stations

about how you've been a complete ass to me about removing your name.
This is a very interesting paragraph when taken in context with other

It's not childish to tell you that I no longer want to be affiliated

"Brown Hole"? This has certainly elevated the conversation.
I see, now, that asking you to make changes to your site is fruitless.
I'll continue to honor requests for the PW-CD that result from the
list on your site. Unfortunately, I will have to tell them about our
grudging relationship.

It's nice to see that you can only take issue now with my choice of
words in my replies and not about how you've been a complete ass to me
about removing your name.

And tell them how you asked, and I said I would after I confirmed it
before the next update, and how you got rude and demanding and have
continued to do so since.
You didn't honor my request. It's such a simple thing to do and yet
you refuse to do it.

Because silly, I haven't gotten to that page yet. And I'm not going to
completely stop my life just because you're not a happy little child
about your name being on a web site.

And with that.... *PLONK*

Your post simply sounded like you were taking a shot or two at Susan
by talking about how things would be done right and even better, yada
yada.

Just seemed a tad rude and uncalled for, nothing major. I was just
surprised as it had gotten quiet again around here and I wasn't
expecting any flare-ups, let alone to come from your direction.

As I say, just my 2 cents worth. I know, it's worth even less.

Ahhhhhh...... Not my intent at all of course. But the site was full of
errors yada yada... But I didn't mean to make it sound as if I was
ragging on Susan.

Doesn't really answer why I've got dogs riding my hind end though... If
Susan has something to say to me, she doesn't need vigilantes to do it
for her. She's smart, she knows how to type, and if I say something
wrong about her, I'm sure I'll hear about it from her.

Thanks for pointing that out... I would not have figured that if you
hadn't.

A mind reader you must be. This was not intentional at all. At least
not intentionally to hurt *Susan*. The content on the site is full of
errors, inconsistant formatting and missing information. That's not
trying to take a shot at Susan, it's stating a fact. Look at the site
yourself, that is, if you dare take the time like I have. My point
was, that I'm trying to make it better, not that Susan was lacking
ability.

If it sounded as if I was trying to dog Susan, I'm sorry to Susan. I'm
not sorry to anyone else here who seems to be jumping all over me.

BTW, if this was the point of all this jumping me, why didn't someone
just come out and be damned honest about why? It amazes me that this
thread has gotten this far, but only now does someone mention how my
original post sounded. This shows what little integrity some people
here have.

So all this trying to shame Garrett, and it was only about how my

And you "Mister Charlie"..... I like how you say that I was

Well, all the freeware sites I visited have errors. We are
all humans, it has been a very tough job for her to making the
whole site sort of from ground up (you know, sometimes it is a
bit easier to revise then to start everything from the
beginning). I think the site looked very nice, and I believe
of course, it will go on looking nice after you start working
on it :)
If it sounded as if I was trying to dog Susan, I'm sorry to

It did sound a bit like that (although I didn't think about it
too much because I was too busy with that hateful tr*ll :p).
Hope that Susan wouldn't mind. She is a very nice person,
(but I guess it wouldn't hurt to make an appology more
directly to her, though, just a humble suggestion).

I'd like for you or anyone else here point out anything that's contrary
to what I have said so far.

OK, I will give it a brief shot on the assumption you are serious. I
will necessarily be subjective and will provide no refs since it is
based on 'feel' and overall perception.

You are contrary and inconsistent. You popped up at a difficult time
for the group, proclaiming yourself to be a peacemaker, and have been
divisive. You posted saying that you might support your site with ads
and then accused Ben of invention when he reminded you of this. You
talk about listening to people, but only show listening skills when
what you hear validates your own perceptions.
I'd like for someone to show me where I did wrong recently to anyone in
this group.

Your recent post about tidying up after Susan showed a serious lack of
social skills and basic respect. The way you have handled Ben also
exemplifies this. Anyone with a modicum of diplomacy would have
quietly given Ben what he wanted when he initially asked for it; by
being deliberately confrontational you have kept open a sorre that
should have healed by now. I doubt this bothers you; you clearly enjoy
the rougher end of usenet debate.
You insult by implication anyone who posts in defense of susan by
referring to them dismissively as 'vigilantes'.
I'd like for someone to show me where I treated anyone injustly,
wronged anyone, attacked anyone, called anyone names, demanded anything
from anyone, said anything bad about anyone in this group, been unfair
or dishonest.

See above.
Except for the 'dishonesty'. I think you are dishonest; the manner of
your recent arrival here was wholly dishonest, I reckon.
Coincidences like the timing of your appearance are rare enough to
press my 'conspiracy theory' buttons. So. I think you are a liar.
What have I done to deserve this BS from Ben or anyone else? Ben has
an issue which he's taking out on me, and the fellow doesn't even know
who I am. I was polite and told him that I'd confirm with him before
the next update.

You are perfectly aware of what you have done to upset Ben. And you
continue to upset him, partly because you don't care, and partly
because you enjoy it.
Now he's all up in my schnoozle here with Susan
coming along for the ride, by quoting things I said, which aren't even
relevant to the subject.

This is another fine example of Garrett speak, displaying a
fundamental lack of respect for Ben or Susan and being downright rude.
The 'not relevant' remark is simply part of your usenet armoury of
tricks... it is not entirely down to you who determines 'relevancy'.
Discussion is a shifting thing; by trying to insist on narrow focus
you show a desire to have absolute control of the discussion.
And now you, whom again, I have no clue who you are, and I don't think
you know me either,

Of course we know each other. We are contributors to the same ng, and
have enough experience to know how this sort of stuff works. Playing
this 'innocent victim' card is a bit disingenuous.
and you're questioning the consistancy of my
posting history recently?
Yes

I've consistantly tried to keep things
honest and fair here, I've consistantly been respectful of everyone
here,

This is untrue
and I've consistantly been dogged by a certain group of people
here.

The victim card again? You pop up at a difficult time and accept a
poisoned chalice from a few of your mates and expect everyone else to
say thank you and be quiet? You get plenty enough positive affirmation
from your own 'certain group of people'; try to be realistic in your
expectations.

You just don't have a clue, do you? The funny thing is, that you have
not provided any information here to show everyone what a bad person I

person in a sense, and now you're off on something about politics.

Again, the victim card coupled with rudeness.
Basically, put up or shut up already.

LOL. What a silly piece of macho crap. :)
If you've got something on me,
then by all means, post it. I've got nothing to hide here, I've done
nothing wrong to anyone here, but you and a few others continue to drag
this on and continue to try and invoke me into some sort of little
childish argument over nothing at all. I think you should open your
eyes now...

I don't believe that you really are stupid enough to believe that you
are an innocent in all of this. But perhaps I am wrong.

BTW, I think it would be helpful if you were to engage more in a few
