Cannot Connect

I keep getting messages saying MS Antispyware has updated
to 5791. It is the same message every two hours.

I tried to manual update and I get a Warning, could not
connect to the Internet. Auto Updater failed. Auto
Updater could not detect an Internet Connection.

All my other programs connect just fine and I assume they
are doing so through port 80.

Any suggestions?

Can you check your Internet Connection settings? There's been some
discussion about whether setting "automatically detect settings" for the
proxy setting on the connection helps.

Try uninstalling MSAS, then connect again. Also which build are you running,
..501 or .509.

I'm still on 5699. Is it actually up to 5791? Every time I try to do a
manual update, it just says I'm current.

Seriously, 5699 is the current run of defs.

Sorry --I didn't even notice--not too wide awake today.

There's a bug which sometimes displays outlandish numbers for the def
versions--and this could be that bug, or a typo. 5699 is it.
