Zip drive eject button doesn't work

Ever since I installed XP Home SP1, the eject button on my internal atapi
Zip drive doesn't work, but right clicking on the drive and selecting eject
does. I have installed the latest Iomega software. Can anyone tell me how to
get that button to work again?
Thanks.

If the media inserted in the drive has been formatted with NTFS then this is
a normal behavior for WindowsXP. With Fat or Fat32 formatted media, the
eject button should work. If it does not and you are using the IOMEGA
software (not really needed) then you may want to check for the latest
software.

A belated thank you. My Zip disks are formatted with FAT. I contacted Iomega
Support, tried their suggestions to no avail. They inferred that my drive
was defective. Worked with Win 98, didn't work with XP immediately after
installation. With odds like that, I should buy some lottery tickets! Thanks
again.

I know this isn't going to help you but.... After three ZIP drive
failures and several returns to Best Buy, etc. I've decided never
again to use Zip drives/disks to store my valuable data. Too risky.

The current prices for a good CD burner and CDR disks is so
inexpensive, I don't know why anyone would want to use a ZIP drive;
portable or not.

Yeah, I bought one that died in six months and the replacement drive died
too. I'm shocked and surprised that anyone still uses this over-priced and
unreliable technology. (Sorry, this isn't helpful either!)
