I have an Intel 3.2 GHZ processor with 2GB of RAM. The Upgrade Advisor says I
have no problems other than a printer that may need a new driver. All other
systems check out with the Advisor. The 32 bit and 64 bit disks both give me
the same message. What could be happening here? Any chance the BIOS could be
outdated (American Megatrends V3.7 May 2004)?

When you insert a Windows Vista 64-bit DVD within a 32-bit
operating system, the operation is unsuccessful

Maybe you missed where he said that both the 32-bit and 64-bit give the
same message?

I tried both disks because I did not know if I had a 64 bit system. Couldn't
find documentation anywhere I was used to looking.

But both disks are giving the same message after Upgrade Advisor said I was
good to go.

I think I'll try booting from the DVD next.

The Upgrade advisor is more of a marketing tool for MS to use to push
more people to vista than any kind of accurate upgrade reference.

Right click on Computer and select Properties. The resulting screen will
tell you if you have a 32 bit or 64 bit operating system.

Have a nice day.
