Yet another installation problem - Goimg Crazy-Please help

CrazyDave

In reading a bit around this group, I'm seeing a lot of this type of
thing. Nothing I've read so far has helped. I'm trying to install a
cdr label program, and I keep getting this message - "Service you are
looking for is on a network resource that is unavailable" And it wants
me to use a different path to the install package. Turns out this
program (past install) is still showing up in my add-remove programs
folder, and I get the same message when trying to remove it. I never
had problems like this in the past, just all of a sudden. I've tried
different startup modes etc. I'm using win 2000, and I'm feeling like
taking a hammer to my pc. Can anyone shed some light on this?
thanks

I'm assuming that the message is actually "The feature you are trying to use is
on a network resource that is unavailable." If so, what's happening is that the
uninstall of the previous version requires access to the original MSI file at
the location that it was installed from (which was a network share). The new
version install may be trying to uninstall the old version and giving you the
same problem.
