Has anyone set up a local GitLab server? I’ve been trying for weeks to no avail. For personal reasons and, well… not wanting to pay for a subscription, I’ll keep all my code offline.

Ignoring the fact that it’s Linux, which means command line (yuck), I’m stuck at the SSL stuff. I can issue an internal SSL certificate for the GitLab server, but browsers reject it regardless, even though I’ve installed CA root. This breaks cookies, so the initial setup doesn’t work.

If anybody has managed to successfully deploy GitLab - or any other self hosted Git server, please help.
