XP2

When I automatically updated to XP2, I got the blue screen
of death (after rebooting) and the error message "STOP:
c0000135 {unable to locate component} This application may
have failed because winsrv was not found. Re-installing
the application may fix this problem."

Microsoft chat suggested reinstalling Windows, which I
tried. It went ok until I got the message "The procedure
entry point GetIUMS could not be located in the dll
MSDART.DLL". Clicking "Ok" or "X" just makes it appear
again. I can't get past it.

Microsoft chat then suggested reformatting my hard drive.
Any better suggestions? Thanks for your help.

You can get past this error by clicking okay about 300+ times. The
installation is continuing in the background. I ran into this one twice
during a xp repair install.

It might pop up again during service pack 2 install, do the same thing
and you should get through it. I did.

That first boot after sp2 takes a while, be patient.

hope this helps,

Jess
