XP will not boot

XP will not boot. It continues in a cycle of rebooting
itself. I have narrowed the problem down to the agp440.sys
file. Unfortunatly in order to fix this I need to disable
the file from the recovery console. Now I can't find my
Recover CD and the XP setup floppies that I downloaded
from Microsoft give me an error around disk 5. So is there
any way to access the recovery console from DOS or disable
the agp440.sys file without using the rcovery console.

Thanks for your Help

AE Meeks-

You can use a regular XP CD to access the recovery console.

If you would've installed the recovery console ahead of time, it would be a
boot option via the boot.ini file and you could choose it on startup.

OK I have managed to access the Recovery Console using a
Win2000 cd. But the solution supplied by MS doesn't work.
They said that I could disable the AGP440.sys by
typing "listsvc" to see if its open and then "disable
AGP440". Well typing listsvc list nothing and typing
disable agp440 says the registry is either corrupt or
missing. I renamed AGP440.sys and it still hangs. So I
guess thats not the issue. So here is whats happening and
maybe someone can supply another possible solution.

I installed a GeForce FX 5200 AGP video card. No probs for
about a month then I start getting "Driver Conflict"
Errors and XP hangs. I does that twice then it starts
rebooting itself continiously and will not let me into XP
at ALL. Safe Mode and Last Known start to load then stop
at AGP440.sys. As I said before I managed to lose my
recover CD that came with the system so ReInstallation
isn't an option, without buying a new copy of XP. So If
anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Again
