XP SP2 Install

My first attempt at installing XP SP2 on my son's DELL
XPS 500 Intel PII failed with the error below:

Select 'OK' to undo the changes that have been made.

What does this mean? I was logged in as a user with
admin rights. This was very close to then end of the
install. Thanks.
