If you have a NAT device (eg router, hardware firewall) between your PC and
your internet connection that doesn't support uPnP (or uPnP is turned off)
then video and audio will not work (although I believe there is a way to get
video working via an intermediate MS server but it's slow and I can't
remember how to do it). Also firewall software that does not allow MSN
Messenger to listen on ports (eg. ZoneAlarm configured to not allow it to
"act as a service", or the Windows Firewall not set up to allow MSN
Messenger exceptions) will block it.

Are you connecting through a router? If so you may need to change hardware
settings on it, and specifically enable uPnP (depends on router
brand/model).

When you turn on the webcam do you see a local picture within the small
monitoring screen?

How is your PC connected to your ISP? It'll either be with a modem, or a
router.

IIRC you can only see another persons cam if their end is configured
correctly. Have you checked with the other people that only you can't see
their webcam video?

My pc is connected via an internal modem.

The other persons camera works fine with other people, just not with my pc.

And it still doesn't work if you disable McAfee firewall, but leave the
Windows Firewall running (after ensuring that MSN has exclusion rules
applied)? Are you sure your webcam drivers are installed properly? Can you
run the Logitech camera software and watch video from your webcam on your
PC?

I have tried it after disabling McAfee, and also tried after disabling
Windows firewall but no joy.

Webcam drivers may not be installed property i guess. I have digi cam which
i want to you for webcam. Under web/audio wizard i can see an image, but when
i try to share with other user, msn messenger states no camera can be
detected/plugged in.

I dont have the logitech camera, this is the camera other user has.

Ah, ok then, that looks like the problem. Not all digital cameras can be
used as a webcam, and those that do will require you to install drivers so
that they appear to be a webcam that can be used by applications like MSN
Messenger. It sounds as if these drivers are either not installed, or not
working. What make and model of camera is it?

Camera is a fuji finepix, cant remember exact model off top of my head.

This would explain why i cant send my webcam, but it wouldnt stop me from
veiwing other peoples. Cant view other peoples even when my cam is not
connected

You're right, it shouldn't stop you from seeing other people's unless you're
not connecting directly to the MSN Service via uPnP or an unrestricted
connection.

In MSN, go to Tools | Options, and choose the Connection tab. What does it
say at the bottom in the Advanced Connection Information box?
