Hi,
I've just updated my Windows XP SP1 with SP2 today.
It seems verything is A OK except for this small problem with
the MSN Messenger Audio conversation, the voice of my contact
keeps breaking up.
I've allowed MSN Messenger through the Firewall but this does not help.
The webcam seems to fuction properly.
Can any one please advice me?

After SP2 is installed, your drive will be fragmented & your
Prefetch/Layout.Ini data was purged. For a few days your
system performance will lag, until that information is rebuilt &
processed. An immediate defrag will help, but won't restore
it fully until a ProcessIdleTasks is completed. I can't guarantee
that's the root cause of your issue. Many applications need
post SP2 updates applied to keep them compliant. I would
probably check for the latest Chipset, Sound & Video drivers.

Hi Mr. R. McCarty,
Thanks for your help. I've checked all my Sound & Video drivers,
they seem to be fuctioning properly and there is no update for ir.
About the Chipset....:)) don't quite understand what this is. Can you
please further help me in this subject?
I'd think the bit about having the Prefetch/Layout.Ini purged is making
more sence because I've just emptied it after installation of SP2.

A "Chipset" driver is probably one of the most misunderstood
things about an XP installation. All motherboards use a chipset.
My Intel board has what's called a Springdale-G. These devices
are sometimes referred to as a Northbridge and Southbridge.
They provide additional functionality, such as IDE/SATA &
other peripheral operations. (Video, etc)
All vendors (Intel, VIA, nVidia & SIS) provide driver packages
that update these core drivers. Windows XP provides native
support, but it's best to obtain the actual vendor supplied drivers.
When downloading it's important to obtain the correct driver
package for your motherboard's chipset.
