YH Messenger Sign In Problem with XP, IE8

OS is Windows XP and using IE8, high speed cable connection ~ I am
able to sign into my general YH acct to check mail and use the YH for
Web function but when I go to sign into my YH messenger I get numeric
instead of alpha on my key strokes in the sign in box...I use the
webcam a little so that's why I'd like to use the YH Messenger rather
than their "Messanger for the web" which does not support
webcam...I've uninstalled and reinstalled both 10 and 11 versions of
YH Messenger...Also sent them an email describing the issue...Anyone
else experience this and what was/is the issue and asking for possible
fix...Thanks in Advance!

Does your login look like this ?

There is a language selection near the bottom. Is it English ?

Perhaps by selecting a language choice involving Unicode,
the result doesn't display properly for you ? Maybe the
nature of the basic language of your OS install, somehow
influences what happens to the language choice you
make in that dialog.
