I have two pc's running Win98SE. I have them set up on a network using a
linksys router. They worked fine
UNTIL
I bought a new laptop with Win XP Pro on it.
I ran the network set up program on the laptop and now the two pc's don't
show up on the network unless I have the laptop turned on.
Also, sometimes they don't show up when the laptop is on. The laptop always
sees the other two.
How do I fix this so the other two can see each other when the laptop is not
on?
Thanks for your help.

Ron,

This sounds to me like you have a master browser issue. Disable the browser
service on the laptop. Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services. Stop
and disable Computer Browser. Power off all 3 computers, then power each back
on.

Win9x and WinXP computers do not do well with the master browser issue when
mixed on a LAN. Your desktop computers need to provide browser service when the
laptop is not online, so you have to disable the browser service on the laptop.

Cheers,

Cheers,
Chuck
