Why does an admin account that has access to create shares on a Win2k server
when running win2k pro fail when attempting to access those same shares
running XP pro

Did you give the Admin account in Pro rights to manage the shares on
the server?

Just because the "names" are the same doesn't meant the SIDs for the
two accounts are the same; in fact they have to be different.

The account works fine through the MMC snap-in when used on a win2k pro
install to manage shares on a Win2k server. Use the same MMC snap-in to talk
to the win2k server and via xp pro system - access denied
The account is a domain level account not a local one.
