XP install hangs at 'installing devices'

Trying to reinstall XP and it hangs at 'Installing
devices' and won't go any further, only option is a hard
reset.

Any help appreciated

Try physically disconnecting all peripheral hardware devices,
except your monitor, mouse and keyboard.
