XP Pro hangs on install don't know why??

Thanks in advance. I recently purchased a new pc w/o any OS because I have
XP Pro on CD. When I try to install it hangs up in several places. It
doesn't give any errors it just sits there. I have tried to install this for
several hours with no luck. The farthest I have got with it is it will
display windows XP logo when booting up and says insert cd to finish install
yet it hangs when installing the device drivers. I am at my wits end here.
I appreciate any and all help.

Hopefully its a new xp cd also,as xp will only install and register for 1
pc...
Install xp cd,boot to xp cd (set the BIOS for this),at xp cd info
page,install
xp,delete the partition, create one, then xp formats and installs auto....

-The most common reason for this is the need for a serial-ATA driver. If
your computer has a serial-ATA disk you may need to find a driver for the
mobo's controller. You install this by pressing F6 when the setup first
restarts after the 'copying files' screen.

If so you need to download the driver and prepare it by putting it onto a
floppy or HD/CD from which Setup can access it.. If the download was zipped
you need to unzip it, so you have the plain files.

I had set the bios to boot from cd, it would stick at the 34 min mark. I
have since found out that this is the mark for hardware issues to stick at.
I didn't have a fdd cable when I tried to install, I have since acquired one
and installed the cable and hooked up power to my fdd. I am putting XP pro
onto my new computer and will be removing it from my old one once this is up
and running. Couldn't find my original cd only have my backup cd to load the
OS from. It isn't getting to the 34 minute mark. It gets stuck at analyzing
my hard drive. Should I just get a new cd and license?
