XP home wont boot ---registry_error

recently installed router ..so i removed nic just in case
driver problems..
Wont boot from safe mode..get the welcome screen but then
the BSOD

I was able to remove the drive and mount on another box
and perform virus scaN..no virus
Is there any way to repair registry on this slave drive
that is in another box?
