XP Home Logon Error Box

Bob

When I start my PC and it gets to the User Logon Screen
instead of letting me choose which User I want to log in
with XP Home brings up an Error Box that says:

"User Environment

Windows cannot load the user's profile but has logged you
on with the default profile for the system.

DETAIL - The system has attempted to load or restore a
file into the registry, but the specified file is not in
a registry file format."

It then counts down from 30 and either logs me in
with the default profile after it counts down or after I
click the OK box.

I have tried everything to get this to stop, it is very
annoying. Can anybody please help me stop this?

Thank you for the help.

It sounds like your user profile is corrupted. Make a new user profile
and copy the data from the old one over, then delete the old one.
