User Profile Problem

Hi...when I click on my user profile upon start up I get the following error:
"Windows cannot load the user's profile but has logged you on with the
default profile for the system.
DETAIL - The system has attempted to load or restore a file into the
registry, but the specified file is not in a registry file format."
It has a 30 second count down and if I don't click okay then my pc locks.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thanks.

Hi,

Your user profile is corrupt. Logon as administrator or to another account
with administrator privileges, then copy your old one into it. After
successfully setting up and logging into the new account, you should delete
the old one.

Note that one step not listed in the article is that after creating the
destination profile you must log into it once first to create the necessary
file structure before you do the copy procedure.
