XP explorer slow

Hi there,
I have an XP Pro machine.
1. It is very slow opening My Computer and all folders since I turned
file synchronization off when working from home.
2. I am also looking for the entry in group policy, User
Configuration, Administrative Templates, Desktop "Do not add shares of
recently opened documents to My Network places" but it does not exist
(User Configuration, Admin Templates). How can I add it to disable the
feature?
3. I do not have any shortcuts to network folders that would slow down
explorer.
Any other ideas why opening folders would be so slow?
Thank you,
T

Hi there,
Thank you. How do I check:
2. above and why
1.above turning off file sync will cause it to be slow? This is
really the issue, not spyware/malware or other extra startup programs.

One step at a time, grasshopper! <wink>
