XP does not recognize USB 2.0 hub

I just plugged a usb cable into a usb 2.0 hub, and xp came back and said
that it did not recognize the device. Does XP not have native support for
USB 2.0 devices? The hub did not come with any documentation or drivers.
 
The usb drivers are with SP1 for xp,however to update
the driver you can go to cypress semi conducter
for a free download
