Hi,

What is the brand and model of your sound card/chips?
Can you open the mixer of your sound device?
The Mic setting should be located on the mixer.
Make sure it is not "Mute" or the mic volume is setted to
mininum.

Sound cards vary, so the following may not be applicable to your system...

Double-click the speaker icon at the bottom-right of the window. Be sure
that the mic slider is showing, the volume is up, and the MUTE box is
UNchecked.

Click on OPTIONS|PROPERTIES and click the "recorder" radio button. Select
the mic by clicking in its box.
