Xp Crashing

i received the same crash error every day, at least once
a day for the past two weeks. it started just before the
new service pack came out. i tried to restore the
machine to factor setting, which cleaned the machine.
Shortly after loading my programs again, the crashes came
back. crash analysis says it is an unknown device driver
is the cause of my problem most of the time. the rest of
the time i receive a message that says it relates to my
touchpad (hp pavilion ze 1210 laptop). i tried to
updated that driver several times and it final worked.
then it crashed again. my last idea was to unistall and
not use the touchpad. that worked for about two days.

the stop message is stop: 0x0000008e (0xc0000005,
0x00000000, 0xf41d4090, 0x00000000)
any ideas
