XP compatability issues.. Having trouble~

I just found some old, old games in a closet, and after blowing the dust off,
decided to put them to use.. The game in question is 'The 11th Hour'.. Some
old horror game I realize I've never played.. Well, after the cheesy,
dos-style install, I can't seem to get it to work.. I changed the file
properties to be 95/98 compatable and such, and still, no dice..
Any solutions?
Even trying to play it in dos doesn't help..

If anyone has any answers at all, please, email the solution to me.

Thanks

Hi Lulach,

We read and respond in the newsgroups, I hope you'll read this. :)

7th Guest and 11th Hour have a lot of fans who play it using XP. This article:
http://pub44.ezboard.com/ftheseventhguestandeleventhhourfrm1.showMessage?topicID=236.topic shares some of the techniques they use
to run it successfully.

Chris H recommends "going to www.google.com and doing a search for files
t7g*.zip and 11h242.zip. These are updates for 7th Guest and 11th Hour which
are quite helpful.".

Here's some general supplemental information which you should find useful ;-) ...
11th Hour has been made to work using Windows 2000 compatibility mode:
How to use Compatibility Mode: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=292533

or try using the Multiboot bootdisk from: http://members.ozemail.com.au/~lpcd/downloads.html .

With DOSBOX you can emulate a DOS computer on your XP desktop:
http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/information.php

If you prefer to explore other advanced methods, here are two of the best
tutorials I've found on the subject: http://www.dosgames.com/xphints.php
and: http://home.earthlink.net/~angeldancer27/XpGameList.htm :)
