XP and SP2 can't come out of hibernate

Hello All,
I am running XP with SP2 when I go to hibernate, the computer shuts down.
there is no response from the keyboard or the mouse. I have to boot to get
going. Is there a patch to fix this ?

That's what Hibernate is supposed to do. Hibernate dumps memory to the hard drive, then
shuts down. When you restart, the memory is reloaded as it was before the hibernate
operation and you continue as you were.

What you seemed to be looking for is more like Suspend or Standby.
