Xp Active X Irritation/Problem

When I go to some sites, I get an alert box about my ActiveX controls not
being set properly. A pic is how here:

Is this legit or is there a problem? I checked my security options and
things seem normal. Maybe a ploy by some sites to add malware to my system?

You probably installed a recent windows update that provides a quick fix
to combat a very nasty virus attack that might result in sites getting
contaminated and downloading data logging stuff unbeknown to them or
you. These could then do things like logging keystrokes if you connect
to a Bank/Paypal or the like, and report your details to a criminal
site.

So the fix stops your running possibly dangerous scripts: the method,
if you connect to a site you think you can trust to keep clean, is to go
to Internet Options - Security, Highlight Trusted Sites and click the
Sites button to add the site to it - eg as http://*.ebay.com
You will need to uncheck the box about Server confirmation at the
bottom. And then be *very* careful about links purporting to be
across to eBay. It is better to copy the URL by hand into the address
box. You might like to get a tool at www.corestreet.com/spoofstick/
that will help warn you.
