O.T. - Adobe Flash Player Active X

I have a Dell XPS 8500, with Windows 7 Professional, SP1,
with Spywareblaster, CcCleaner, Avast, and Windows firewall.

(1) TB HD Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-33-3770 CPU @ 3.40 GHz 3.40 GHz
Ram 12.0 GB, System type : 64-bit operating system

Avast recently notified me that my Adobe Flash Player Active X needed updating.

I downloaded and installed their latest version (11.9.900.152) but Avast
still notifies me that it needs updating.

I then checked my installed programs and it shows:

Adobe Flash Player 11 Active X installed on 10-8-2013
Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin insatalled on 11-20-2013

I checked the Adobe website and they are apparently having problems and
didn't have any way of contacting them. So my question is; do I have to wait
till Adobe is up and running before Avast recognizes that I have the newer
version or will I need to download/ reinstall?

Thanks,
Robert

Hello David,

I seem to remember you helped me before with my Dell 8200 which
I will be trying to resurrect but that's another discussion.

I followed the link you gave me and tried to download Adobe Flash Player
but it seemed to be in a loop. Each time I tried to download the Flash
player I clicked on install now>then saved the file> but when I double
clicked on the file it asked whether I wanted to save it again? I did
this several times with the same result. Did I do something wrong?

Thanks,
Robert

Yes. I use that site all the time to obtain the latest Flash for ActiveX (IE) and
Browser's using Plugins (Firefox) and never encounter a problem.

Hello David,

I clicked on your links and they downloaded/installed with no problem at all.
I then restarted the computer and checked Avast software updates and it all
shows green. Thank you so much!

Have a Nice Day,
Robert
