XP Activation

I recently install Win XP and activated it, all seemed to work. For the last
week I have received a message when I start the computer that Windows needs
to be activated. I click Yes, to activate. The Activation window opens and
tells me that Windows in already activated. I click OK and proceed into
Windows. This happens every time I start Windows?
Is it activated or not? How do I fix this?
I read some of the posts here and the only change that may be relevant is
that the CMOS battery died recently and I replaced it. There were some date
problems prior to that, how I discovered the problem.
I have tried to force activation too, same result, Windows says it is
activated.
I have one day left!

Possible Resolution:

Boot into "Safe Mode" by pressing (F8) during a reboot.

Go to Start > Run and type: regsvr32 regwizc.dll , and hit enter.
Then go again to Start > Run and type: regsvr32 licdll.dll , and hit enter again.

Apparently, and I can't say how, the above files became unregistered.

Additional Troubleshooting:

You are prompted to activate Windows every time you restart your computer

Hi,

Might be worth double-checking the date in the CMOS settings once more to
double-check that it is correctly set.

Pay particular attention to the year, if the date and time is past 03:14:07
GMT on January 19th 2038 then you might see all sort of strange issues with
software not working correctly.

Before anyone says that is the Unix 2038 bug well yes it is but this date
does also affect Windows software.

Kind Regards

Simon
