XP account type HELP please!

Windows XP - I am "computer admin" and my daughter has a "limited acct.". My
problem is that she needs access to 2 programs: "kodak digital camera
software" and "I tunes" software, but they will not work from her "lmited
acct.", I have changed her acct. to another "computer admin" type and then
they work fine for her, however, i do NOT want her to have "computer admin"
privileges.

Is there any way to make these programs work and run fully in the "limited
acct." type? I am new to XP and cannot find this answer anyway online. THX

XP Home or XP Pro?. if XP Pro, you can set "permissions" - you will probably
get the advice you need from others.

In some cases, if the software is poorly written, there isn't much you can
do to make it work. There is no reason for software like this to need admin
privileges other than that's it's poorly written. I don't know specifically
about either of these programs, maybe others will jump in with more
specifics. Here is one link with info on software in limited user accounts.

It is XP home as far as I know. Its the I-tunes software and Kodak Easy
Share software for her camera. I hope some one can help me figure this out.

Proceed with caution and backup or image before making any changes.
- I have not tried this(I run Itunes in an admin account) but the rationale seems somewhat appropriate until something better comes along.

1. You might try placing the Itunes music contents in the All Users/Shared Music folder and then configure Itunes to use that location.

2. This utility from msft which has been around for a few yrs though seldom suggested may also work.

p.s. Just in case something new is planned in your future(live Vista), wait awhile, the current version of Itunes is not Vista ready.
